In this special Christmas podcast we discover the joy of God’s love! In today's special Christmas episode, "Jesus Came to be Our Shepherd!" Pastor Matt draws our attention to the life we have in our King and Savior, Jesus Christ.



The Biblical illustration repeated often concerning our relationship with God is that of Shepherd and Sheep. God is our shepherd and we are ‘the sheep of his pasture.’ Joy is the result of staying close to the Shepherd



This makes Christmas a special time for celebrating our joy in Christ, the shepherd of our souls. In fact, Christmas reminds us that our Shepherd cares for us – that is why He came and that is why He is coming again for us – to care for us!



Let me encourage you to open your Bible to Revelation 7 and allow Pastor Matt to comfort your heart as he teaches the congregation in Palos Verdes to look forward to rejoice in the care of our Shepherd, Jesus Christ.

It's Christmas – a time of hope! In today's episode, "Jesus Came to Present Us With Hope!" Pastor Matt draws our attention to the "coming" or "arrival" of Jesus. The focus of the entire season is the celebration of the birth of Jesus the Christ in his First Coming, and the anticipation of the return of Christ the King in his Second Coming.

Thus, Christmas is a time for celebrating our hope in Christ, the revelation that through Christ all of creation might be reconciled to God. Christmas reflects this emphasis on the Second Coming, including themes of accountability for faithfulness at His coming, judgment on sin, and the hope of eternal life.

Since hope comes from looking for Jesus' soon return, Christmas is a great time to focus on His second coming.

Let me encourage you to open your Bible to James 5 and allow Pastor Matt to encourage your heart as he teaches the congregation in Palos Verdes to look forward to the soon return of Jesus Christ.

Christmas reminds us that after centuries of unrest and occupation, rebellion and slavery, the people of God longed for a Savior who was strong enough to bring about a lasting peace. Today we celebrate this Peace-Giver: Jesus Christ.

Since peace comes through God’s grace, this is truly the real meaning of Christmas.
